Sunsong Amphipteres are an unusual breed. Due to light interference caused by their magical nature, they don’t seem to be affected by any ambient light source. However, when struck by direct sunlight, they shine a brilliant gold. They are playful and ever in flight; their ethereal and mysterious appearance and the fact that they are usually only seen at a distance have led many to believe they are a symbol of hope and good fortune.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Amarphagos is a Sunsong Amphiptere. His egg was discovered in the middle of the dragon family's favourite sunbathing spot. The beautiful, glowing egg hatched into an ethereal hatchling who turned out to be almost invisible unless (as the babysitters discovered) unless sunlight shone on him. The young Amphiptere also had a mischievous side to him, often hiding in the shadows and leaping out at his babysitters as they frantically searched for him. When he grew older he started visiting human settlements, where he makes himself visible to a single human being and no one else. He manages this by adjusting the angle at which the light falls on him. The human who can see him is usually hailed as either a great seer- or an idiot. Both results as far as Amarphagos is concerned, are equally amusing to watch, and he often invites some of his family along to look at what his latest "protege" is doing.
