Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Even though Pugno is a vampire dragon, he loves the company of others. At night, he flies out to visit the nocturnal dragons in Crystal Clan. Sometimes, he sits with Fernus to watch the moon. Other nights, Pugno races against Mundy and Stellar-Mars to let out pent up energy. Before the sun comes out, he joins in the hunt for breakfast before retiring to his cave. When the sun is high, he sits in the darkness of his cave and day dreams of the fun adventures he gets at night. Hatchings like to venture into his cave and explore, so Pugno is never lonely. The only time he was sad and confused was the day he met his biological parents from a neighboring clan and realized that he had started out as a normal egg. Now, Pugno enjoys his life as a vampire dragon because of his acceptance into the Crystal Clan.
