Ochredrakes are a curious species with a wide array of mutations and interesting behaviors. Not as intelligent as normal dragons, they only breed with other drake species. While they may not be bright, ochredrakes are flamboyant and fun-loving with amazing, chirping voices to sing with, and tame readily in the presence of a gentle hand.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Fides is named because of his doglike demeanor and loyal heart. He was his owner's first hatchling, and she thought he was going to die. Thankfully, he managed to mature into the dragon he is now. His name means Loyal Dog, and his name fits him like nothing else. His favorite game, quite predictably, is fetch, but he and his owner play it differently, as to give Fides more of a challenge. They do it by releasing a bluejay and sending Fides to try and capture it without injuring it. This improves not only his flight skills but his dexterity and control as well. Although he is very active, he can be a lapdog and is very sweet, like his namesake.
