Sunset Dragons are closely related to sunrise dragons. However, their behaviors differ greatly. Sunset Dragons generally live alone or in small packs. They are more active in the evening, hunting and performing all of their daily tasks as the sun sets.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Having grown lonely while being a loner, Dyingfire has abandoned traditional sunset dragon ways to seek the companionship of others. However, due to his ferocious appearance and habit of roaming about at twilight-the cursed hour-have estranged him from other dragons. For manly long years he searched for a companion, but found none, and then giving up he threw himself into the sea at the sun's final setting. However, no sooner had he done so then a beautiful silver dragon appeared, pulling him out of the waves and chattering away at him that he shouldn't go in the water if he didn't know how to swim. The two quickly fell in love, and Dyingfire now lives with Nightpearl in her cozy seaside cave-although of late, something seems to be bothering her...
