It’s an undead baby dragon, produced by a failed magical spell. It probably would be cute if it weren’t partially decayed.

Young drakes are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own.

Drakes...aren't really known for their intelligence. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, this goes double for the undead variety. While eight out of ten dragons will agree that Adorably Undead is indeed adorable, the other two will point out that his habit of doggedly gumming everything he can get his mouth on is only cute because he lacks the teeth to make the action anything more sinister. They will, however, grudgingly admit that it there is some amusement to be derived from watching him bump into the same stationary objects for hours on end.
