Golden Wyverns are known for their beautiful metallic scales and rumored magical abilities. Living high in the mountains, these dragons do not believe in killing for sport or pleasure. They will hunt only when hungry and defend themselves when provoked, but will avoid killing to the best of their abilities. Golden Wyverns often mingle with other dragons of similar color and take pride in their shimmering hide.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Hatched on an island of high mountains, bright oceans, and deep valleys, young Ryu searched for other dragons to teach how to hunt and defend.  Most of the other dragons would tell him hunting stories or give a tip, but none seemed to want to actually teach the skill.  Ryu went out on his own, hoping instinct and natural skill would arise.  Born as a Golden Wyvern however, his flashy scales would alert most of his pray to run, and he soon became incredibly hungry.  He came to a part of the island were plants seems to grow brighter, and the air breezed saltier.

He came upon a white stag who just stood there and stared at him, unafraid  He could not resist thinking of a easy meal and began to charge.  The deer seemed to freeze even more to Ryu's surprise, and then a gleam of gold as he felt something rather powerful send him reeling across the forest floor.  He arose quick and angry, ready to defend himself, and then he saw her.  Beautiful, sparkling in fighting stance, breathing heavily.
