When Water Dragons mature, they lose the ability to survive on land, entering the water permanently. They are adept swimmers and eat whatever fish are in the lake they live in. They tend to inhabit the same lake for their entire lives, although a few live in the ocean and swim all over the world.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Coral Warrior is a water dragon. He is rarely seen and he seems obsessed with coral plants, which is evident by the fact that he carefully and meticulously tends to a small patch at the bottom of the lake in which he lives, despite the coral needing tropical temperatures and not the cold waters of his home. However, he isn't an absolute fanatic of the corals, and he still comes out to talk to his few friends, though he does not socialize as much as any of the other dragons. Strangely, despite his preference for living alone, he is actually very welcoming, and often invites traveling or lost dragons to spend the night in his semi-submerged cave before sending them off in the morning to continue their journeys.
