Nebula Dragons are nocturnal creatures. With the best eyesight to be found, they are often seen staring into space. Each dragon tends to observe a particular nebula and will eventually change their colors and patterns to match it. As the nebula changes over time, the dragon changes with it. The more intricate the design of the nebula, the better chance an individual has of attracting a mate. It is said that the markings on no two Nebula Dragons will be exactly the same.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Due to her rather unfairly poor eyes, Softglow is not able to fixate and emulate a galaxy of choice, like her family. She instead focuses on Venus; to show this, her body possesses an unusual streak of silver slashed across it, with other smaller, less significant patches dotting around it. It is clearly showing the path Venus makes through the sky in the evenings and mornings.

Despite her rather bland colouration in relation to other Nebulas, she still managed to woo the noble Silver, Keyclock, with her stubborn persistence and good nature despite her fuzzy vision. He acts as her eyes from time to time, describing out the less obvious constellations and planets in the sky -- Softglow has devoted the underside of her wings to slowly forming the map of stars she sees not with her eyes, but, thanks to her devoted mate, with her mind.

Occasionally coming back down to Earth, she simply desires nothing more than to raise many strong Nebula and Silver children with her beloved metallic mate.
