Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Thrud is a loving and devoted daughter and mother, who values her family relationships. She is proud of her clanfolk, their culture, their learning, and their harmonious relationships with neighboring humans—like her father, she views it as her sacred duty to cherish and protect her kinfolk and their humans. Her devotion to duty, however, does not prevent her from having a lively sense of humor or a delight in the beauty of words—she is an expert poet and historian whose ballads are sung by dragon and human alike. When battle is necessary, she is a ferocious and feared fighter, who has been known to chant war-songs of her own extemporaneous composition in perfect rhythm with her blows. However, she does not need to display this talent often, as her land and clan are predominantly peaceful.
