Geode Dragons are closely related to Stone dragons. They are covered in a hard stone-like material as well as beautiful crystal. Their wings are entirely useless for flight, but they help attract mates. The dragons with the most brilliant and colorful crystals are more likely to mate.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zara is one of the... simpler dragons in the Cave. She's easily tricked, is something of a klutz, and has to have a 'hatchling-sitter' with her at all times. And she can't fly. The dragons that make sure she doesn't hurt herself are thankful for this, but at the same time, they hate it. She'll constantly ask why she can't fly, and they won't respond for fear of hurting her feelings, or convincing her to do some hare-brained thing that will undoubtedly end badly. At one point in time, she jumped from a cliff in an attempt to glide around. Thankfully, the dragon that was watching her was a Magi dragon, who managed to summon enough magical power to stop her fall. Zara got a real chewing out after that incident- it took thirty minutes to convince her that she didn't fly, and two more hours to convince her that jumping off cliffs is a very bad pastime.
