Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Toasty Bluule is a happy-go-lucky hatchling who just wants to make friends and play all day. But before she was frozen, Toasty almost died.

She was playing one day in Zephyra's kitchen, climbing around on shelves where she should not have. She lost her footing and fell into the fire pit in the center of the room. While rescue came swiftly once she screamed, it was almost too late. She was badly burned across most of her right side, legs, belly and back. The healers got to her quickly and managed to save her life. But when she started to grow again, something went wrong. Her scarred skin did not grow with her, and she was in great pain. Eventually Zephyra and Nurrowin came to the decision to freeze her growth with magic to prevent any further pain or even death.

While she is still scarred, Toasty's skin has now grown enough to prevent pain, and she enjoys a full happy life. While actually ungendered, Toasty decided that she was a female because she was tired of people calling her an it.
