Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

User Description

Miss Rosa acts as though she were some fairytale princess, always smiling benevolently and singing small songs as she flies. The smile always on her lovely face, however, is no more real than the smile of a doll. Inside, she's self-critical and self-conscious, always trying to be the perfect young lady she knows she isn't. She'll examine her rosebud-colored scales in the mirror for hours, desperately polishing or cleaning off some semi-imagined imperfection. If she's hurt, emotionally or physically, she'll never admit it—she'll just smile, wider and more desperately than ever before, the sorrow lurking in her eyes.

As for the cause of this poor little hatchling's unhappiness... It's her mother. She is either dismissive or smothering, and in either mood will make one thing clear: she wants a daughter who is perfect, something Rosa cannot measure up to. It's very possible that her father is the only thing keeping her from completely self-destructing, and that can only last so long.
