Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

To Laughing Swiss, everything is absolutely hysterical. When the Cave is under attack, Swiss gives a happy little chortle, and when the dreaded Lagmonster rampages through the land, a good-natured guffaw is never far behind. Even the high and mighty Hylar isn't able to quell Swiss' snickers and snorts, and always makes his escape quickly before anyone hears him being laughed at. Swiss shares Gouda's popularity with the hatchlings of the Cave, finding endless amusement in the antics of the young.
