Two-Finned Blunas are a very social breed of dragon, living in packs of dragons called “pods.” Blunas are very curious and playful creatures and several dragons in a pod will often “play” with one other, chasing each other around, tossing seaweed back and forth, and riding ocean swells. They are occasionally seen swimming alongside whales and dolphins.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

To most parents, Nick may have been a blessing. But when born to a mom who's as unmovable as a mountain and a nervous dad, Nick had a rough first few years. His parents cared for him less and less till they forgot they even had a son.

The youth staggered around, scavenging, hoping someone would take him in. Normally, dragons actually have a reason to abandon their offspring; so mothers didn't get their hopes up. Far too young to exist alone for a length of time, Nick became anemic and ill.

He would have died, had it not been for the younger hatchling who found his body curled up in the bushes. Jax Callio. He went and fetched his mother, Star.

Having always wanted two sons, Star nursed Nick back to health and raised him as her own. He grew up as one of the Callios, and even when his parents retrieved him, he kept the Callio name.

Nick and Jax were never apart since that day. Despite being the one who was injured, they fell into a comfortable relationship where Nick watched out for Jax.
