As the nocturnal relative to Sunbeam Drakes, Moonglow Drakes are a secretive breed most active under the light of the moons and stars. They are wary of others, but are known to have incredible loyalty should their trust be won. Catching sight of Moonglow Drakes as they dance amid the moonlight is seen as a favorable omen by those they live near, and tamed individuals are common. They are slightly smaller than their cousins, averaging around the size of a cat.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

Sparrow is a Night Glory Drake. When he sleeps, Sparrow hangs in the back of the cave like a bat. When night comes, Sparrow flies swiftly into the forests and no one knows where he goes. He is occasionally seen above the small village that Dearest Wish decorates, playing with the bats and sitting on the rafters and eaves of the roofs. When Sparrow is at the cave, he makes no noise, even telepathically. He does not seem to care for the young, but then again: Drakes are too small to fit over a decent-sized egg and there have been few Pygmy eggs in his clan since he was born.
