Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. You find it odd that the hatchling doesn’t move at all during the day, but at night its colors change and it is full of energy.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Sol's favorite feeling in the world is the slow warmth that the sun spreads through her whenever its rays touch her skin. Like all Nocturne dragons, she can't move when this happens, but she doesn't mind that. She has no desire to move when she feels that warmth—just a beautiful languorous sensation that she can never get enough of. The only thing that comes close to it is the wonderful stretch she can have when the sun goes down but its heat still pervades her from wingtip to talons. She never fails, just before dawn, to find someplace secure and yet open to the sky, so that she never has to miss an opportunity to sunbathe.
