Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Rita is one of the few older dragons around. She had been named by a human, who found her a very wonderful, well mannered, good humored, sweet, loving dragon. (Yes, being a gold dragon, she could have been foul and ripped his head off.) As she got older others found themselves quite fond of her and found themselves visiting her for advice, or to be in the company of her gentle humor. Rita is a quiet planner. (yes, you read that right.) She makes certain things go carefully the way she wishes them to. Sometimes those ways are for herself. More often then not those ways are for others. She is one of the few dragons other respect and love and wish to be loved by. She has never spoken a foul or ugly word nor has she hurt anyone. Then again, she has never had the need to be unpleasant.
