Green Dragons are also sometimes called “earth” dragons. They usually live deep within caves, and have power over the earth. They are capable of launching boulders at high speeds, and can cause earthquakes by slamming down onto the ground.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Chailea makes her home in a cave far removed from most human activity, and is fiercely protective of it. Most unwitting intruders meet an untimely end by spontaneous eathquakes and or falling rocks, though those who manage to escape tell wild stories of a green-scaled monster as big as a windmill (if you'll pause to hear the ridiculous tale). The one trespasser who dares visit again is Faydri, Chailea's mate. Though she initially attacked him and was shocked to find an equal, the two have become very close (despite her temper) and love each other deeply beneath the occasional (or frequent, depending on the week) scuffles.
