Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Close But No Banana always sets New Year's resolutions, and always keeps them right up til the last week of December. Then, inevitably, he breaks them. Last year he had a brilliant idea: he'd simply stay secluded in his cave for the year's last week, thus  eliminating any chance of slip-ups. Unfortunately, his resolutions had been to be more social and to take a walk in the open air every day. Close But No Banana is almost painfully optimistic, however. He never stops making resolutions and never stops breaking them.
