Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Shield, the general of the Meri frozen hatchling army, is a kind soul. She created the army to help out. Her army is a mercenary army, so they tend to be neutral to wars. But, unfortunately, she was banished from the clan due to her mercenary army. Her mother, Slashtail, who is also the leader of the meridragon clan, saw the army as wrong. She said that the army could only remain on the land if they give part of their earnings to the clan. Shield and the rest of the army got cursed by an evil magi dragon, making them unable to grow up to adults.
