Dark green dragons, once they mature, appear to become an entirely different species. However, this isn’t true. Rather, they burrow underground and get nutrients from their vines. These vines are sometimes referred to as Dragon Grass. These dragons are very violent, and will use their vines to capture, kill, and eat anything that moves, as well as nearby plants. Luckily, their range is limited and they cannot use magic. Dark green dragons tend to be easy to spot since they usually kill all plants around them and thus are usually surrounded by a large clearing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. VenomRoot is a Vine dragon. Cheerful and optimistic by nature, he is also an expert and rather evil prankster. His vines and roots have spread all over the family caves and have an unnerving habit of popping out of nowhere to shock bystanders or to pick up something. He has also recently discovered that he can move around underground, the net result of this being that no one in his family is quite sure of his exact location. While his family has grown used to his vines cropping out from left, right and center, it still has the effect of making visitors jump, much to the amusement of anyone who knew what was coming. If the Vine dragon had been anyone but VenomRoot, he would have been torn to pieces by his cavemates before he even grew up. But this dragon's perpetually cheerful and charming nature disarms anyone who comes up to him with harmful intentions. However, he does have a tendency to shrink away when either Rose Satin the Red dragon or FrostFlyer the Winter dragon approach.
