Seasonal Dragons take on the characteristics of the season during which they are born. Thus, eggs that are laid in spring match the pink flowers and green buds of spring, and those that are laid in the summer grow to depict the bright green of the forest trees and the yellow of the sun. Eggs laid in autumn display the bright colors of leaves falling from trees, and those that are laid during winter take on the appearance of the icy snow.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Vasant (named after the Hindu god of spring) Newflower lives in the tropical jungles on the island of Jarvas. He is responsible for taking care of the rare exotic flowers that grow there year round. These flowers can be turned into powerful healing potions but only grow in small amounts, so they sell for a very high price and can become extinct if too many of the buds are harvested. Vasant watches over one of the only groves of flowers left in Terraria and scares away all the wannabe poachers. Though he's a large dragon, he is surprisingly gentle. He usually does not seek out company, but acts polite enough to those who cross his path though he may be awkward and timid in their presence. Vasant doesn't speak if he can help it. He has a hard time trusting others and doesnt feel comfortable with having to rely on someone other than himself, making relationships with others tough. He is perfectly self-sufficient and spends most of his time tending to his flowers.
