Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Luci did not inherit the serious nature of the rest of her family, and instead focuses on gleaning as much pleasure out of life as possible. Her greatest joy lies in spending time with her mate, Di Mons, and flying about the sky with reckless abandon. Whenever a member of her clan is having difficulty locating her, they know it usually means Luci's in the sky with Di Mons.
