Sophrosyne Dragons are a rare sight, typically making themselves known only to protect and heal the vulnerable. A visit from one serves as a reminder that kindness prevails, and that there’s always hope for positive change. While it is known that they possess the power to reverse botched spells, some claim they can even cure methodically-cast curses. This has never been formally documented, but these dragons have been seen arriving in the aftermath of violence, and the scars of tragedy seem to heal faster in their wake. The feathers of a Sophrosyne have thus become a symbol of perseverance and light in the face of darkness.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

This gentle creature was raised in a swamp, her parents believing the natural beauty and lack of humans there made it the perfect place to raise a child. Danger, however, lurked just outside the bog's protective edges; a human town stood just beyond the boundary, waiting to do ill to any dragon it could get its hands on. Despite her parent's warnings, Azisi was fascinated by the outer world, and often ventured into it. One such adventure would change her life forever.

It was a warm, muggy day in summer when she found Brunvek; a young flamingo wyvern hatchling, not much older than herself, locked in a cage and left to starve as a warning to the rest of his flock. Horrified by this cruelty--and by the rumors that he would be turned into a zombie after death--Azisi saved him with her magic, distracting the locals with strong daydreams while she freed him. Her parents then proceeded to raise him as their own, and over time, the two young dragons formed a strong bond... one of deepest love.
