Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Azylth is hawk's flying dragon.  She enjoys this.  She gets quite upset if hawk doesn't get to ride at least once a week.  She is a proud dragon, and is quite friendly.  She and hawk enjoy talking often, and they have become as close as a dragon and rider can be.  She and her mate, Isychos, are a odd couple seeing as she is a warrior, and he is a healer, but they love each other anyway.  She loves to hunt over the moors, and hawk has many times had to explain to her the sheep belong to farmers.  When a farmer comes to hawk's caves asking if anyone has seen a lost sheep, she always tries to make up for her actions.  She is an honest, noble dragon.
