Cheese Dragons are not actually alive. They are enchanted items of food that act almost identically to dragons. They have no need to eat, but they must “live” in humid environments or they will dry out and harden.

Cheddar Kaze came around into existence recently when, in a fit of inspiration from watching the local Magi Dragons at work, the human presently observing the cave decided to enchant the block of cheese they were going to have for lunch that day into the form and animation of a dragon.
In utter glee at having been animated and given the opportunity to escape its fate, the cheese took off, escaping into the den of dragons without a second glance back at its to-be-eater.
Bemused but ever accepting, Neries then welcomed the delusional piece of cheese into the clan.
