Greater Spotted Drakes are found in open pine and oak forests. They are among the larger end of the spectrum, but are quite laid back and feed mostly on plant material. They are ambush predators and rely on their dappled markings for camouflage. Females are usually larger than males, though males are brighter in color. In the breeding season the male attracts a mate by making loud, low-pitched bugles, followed by an aerial courtship dance as proof of his quality as a father to her offspring.

Though it may appear at first that dragons and drakes have much in common, the two are completely separate species. Drakes are smaller and less intelligent than their cousin species, though both dragons and drakes sit comfortably near the top of the food chain. They are always found bearing antlers and leathery wings. Drakes share many of the same habitats that dragons do, and typically hunt in packs.

User Description

When this dragon was young and learning to seek out her favorite food, blackberries, she inadvertently got slapped in the face by the brambles after pulling off some juicy berries. As a result, she thought bushes were animals that hit back if you harvested from them. She developed a hunting strategy of sneaking up on the berry bushes from a shady direction, pouncing on the bramble to remove the berries, and then darting away quickly before the bramble could strike back. Once she finishes harvesting berries from a bush, it remains flattened for the season and will only strike back at those who step on it.
