Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s extremely curious and seems to enjoy exploring the area around it.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Crocus Petal was found wandering around as a little hatchling by Mist Shine and Lavendar Bud. Not being able to have any hatchlings of their own, they were only too happy to take her under their wing. The joy that Crocus Petal gave to her new family enabled them to have little Violet Leaf and she is relishing being a big sister. She is quite a timid little thing but is very happy and content to be around her family.
