Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Yersalazei is a large, aged black who looks rather unkempt and underfed. His strength and speed are not what they used to be, and he is very conscious of it—to the point of being ashamed. It doesn't help that his mate, Elixi, has recently left him for a younger dragon. Too old for the warrior squad, he now keeps mostly to himself. Because of his growing slowness, Yersalazei prefers stalk-and-ambush techniques in hunt, but he is still sometimes forced to go empty-stomached since very little prey knowingly wanders into dragon Clan territory. Though even when he's starving, he is much too proud to accept help from other dragons.
