Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Kimi Calony, unlike her mother Bridgette Calony or her birthfather Ebon Bass, is a very social dragon. She loves to play and, like her boyfriend Timmy Brady, enjoys being frozen. She is very close to her mom, but her father is distant. Ebon Bass is unable to have children with his wife, so he must breed with other females to have kids. His wife does the same, but they have had no luck so far. Kimi is his child, but because she looks like her mother, she went into her mother's family. Her father figure (and mom's husband), James Hedgrou, is very unhappy that she was born to Ebon. This has created emotional scars for her, and she hates Ebon for her troubles. Kimi, in everyday life, is a very happy dragon. She and her half brother, Harry Hedgrou, often argue.
