Coastal Waverunners spend most of their time skimming the waves along the coast, snatching up their prey from the shallow waters. They have developed markings along the leading edges of their body that help disguise them as breaking waves. When they are not hunting, they enjoy playing among sand-dunes and shallow tide-pools. These dragons live in small but noisy rookeries. Some stories say Waverunners can fly for days on end without landing.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Perhaps Pelican's Wharf and Misty Sea Spray, two of the clan's most famous Coastal Wave Runners, live a secluded life on a cliff, but everyone has heard of Seagull's Rook: the supposed third Waverunner that lives with them. They say that Seagull's Rook has not only traveled the whole wide world, but has also stopped entire wars between kingdoms and settled the worst arguments between nobles—for Seagull's Rook is a legendary arbitrator. Of course, most know that the legends are vastly exaggerated, but what they do not know is that Seagull's Rook is not the brother of Pelican's Wharf, as everyone thinks: rather, Seagull's Rook is a she, the sister of Pelican's Wharf. This little secret is kept among the three, and is the reason why Seagull's Rook isn't seen very often—she's perfectly content to stay with Misty Sea Spray, catching fish by the sea, knowing that if others found out about her gender, there'd be flaring gossip and quite a lot of chaos that could easily be avoided.
