Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It’s very festively colored.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Alluran is a little Snow Angel hatchling. Like all dragons of her breed, she is female. Alluran is a playful hatchling and loves to invent games to play with others. She can often be found in the company of younger hatchlings, keeping them occupied while their parents or other adult dragons take a break from looking after the boisterous young creatures. She does not charge for minding hatchlings for brief periods of time, but most adult dragons feel obliged to give her some type of reward anyway. This is usually a snack of some description, although Alluran has received coins, seashells, stones and, once, a live starling as payment.

Alluran ceased to age after she became lost on "The Whispering Plains" during the heaviest blizzard seen in decades. She buried herself in a snowdrift and waited for the storm to pass. Had she been a breed of dragon less attuned to winter, she would not have survived. Alluran does not mourn her inability to age, and considers that event as a lucky escape.
