Vampire Dragons are members of the undead. They sustain themselves by drinking the blood of others. It is said that they are only “alive” at night, and seem dead or asleep during the day, as they cannot endure sunlight for long periods of time. Vampire Dragons can only reproduce by changing the eggs of other dragons, puncturing the shell with their fangs and injecting venom that kills the baby inside.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Some souls, when running into this dragon, can only vainly hope that she turns out to be different from all the others. Perhaps she will show a small degree of mercy, taking them instead of their eggs, or be repulsed by people's depictions of her kind and seek to change them. Of course, they soon find out that Adraina is no different than any of her kind. She is almost brutally efficient, striking quickly and silently- that is, when she doesn't decide to play twisted versions of games with her prey. She's not exactly above using torture to get what she wants out of people, either.

It is almost ironically tragic that she is what she is, however. If she were any other dragon, Adraina could almost be considered beautiful, but her beauty is the merciless and haunting kind, and often the last thing her prey will see before her teeth meet in their throats will be the ominous glow of her crimson eyes...like something straight out of a nightmare.
