Storm Dragons are the masters of the skies. They are excellent fliers and land only to rest and eat. In addition, they have full control of the weather. They are very hot-tempered and easily angered. They will attack any human that bothers them, conjuring strong winds and dangerous lightning.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Altanir Stormgrace is a perfectionist who tries to control every aspect of a storm, down to what parts of the affected area receive what amount of rainfall or how many lightning bolts strike and where.  She tends to get very upset if a storm deviates from her expectations, sometimes destroying large patches of land in a fit of pique.  Dragons who get Altanir to conjure up rain for them usually regret it—either her idea of a perfect storm ends up causing widespread damage, or she wreaks havoc herself in a fit of temper when the storm has one less lightning bolt than she wanted.  If anyone dares complain about one of her storms, they'll find themselves dodging a barrage of lightning bolts, since Altanir hates criticism almost as much as she does imperfection.
