Feisty and energetic, Whiptail Dragons pride themselves on their speed and agility. It is not unusual to see several whiptails racing each other. Though fragile, they can easily evade attacks with their superior speed, and often use their long tails as a weapon, giving rise to their name.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Argeiphonteia was one of the fastest dragons in her clan, and was given the role of messenger. But she grew tired of running endlessly at others' disposal, and left her clan.

She rescued a young Spitfire hatchling, Eristar, from a certain doom-- he'd been left to survive alone and a hungry beast, an argos, named for their myriad eyes, had decided he'd make a nice meal. She drove off the argos, earning her her name. Seeing Argeiphonteia in the thick of battle, Eristar believed her to be the fastest dragon alive. He grew jealous of her, but she told him that his bright turquoise markings meant he had elemental "powers" as well. The two started a clan together based on this belief of elemental power, but revolt destroyed it and Eristar and Argeiphonteia were exiled. She now helps Eristar to plot his revenge on the ones who wronged him, but she secretly believes he is wrong to hurt them in spite and works behind his back to insure his plans ultimately fail.
