Red Dragons are similar to typical story book dragons. They shoot flames, can fly, etc. However, they aren’t evil creatures as depicted in myths and won’t go around raiding castles, killing knights, or kidnapping princesses. They live in a variety of habitats, from forests to coastlines to abandoned castles, usually in warm climates, and eat whatever living creatures they can find.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

An ocean-loving dragon, Coral makes zir lair on a barren atoll. Unlike most firebreathing dragons, ze loves to swim, and hunts seals, fish, and sharks in the waters off zir atoll. Living in isolation, ze faces no competition for prey or territory, and zir fire is reserved for cooking. Without rivals, ze retains an amicable hatchling's temperament -- though as a large dragon, zir mere presence tends to frighten away sailors and anyone else who would approach. Ze is not troubled by this, and spends zir spare moments constructing cairns and sculptures out of flotsam and coral collected on zir dives. When ze does desire companionship, ze visits zir mate on the mainland, Redtide. How these two temperaments coexist is anyone's guess, but the aggressive, antisocial Redtide tolerates zir as she does no one else.
