Grave Dragons are not named for their connections to death or burial, but for the grave expression on their faces. This strange expression is used as a defense mechanism that causes fits of panic and terror in potential predators. Since they only eat ash and charcoal, they do not hunt. Grave Dragons are powerful fire-breathers and have been known to burn down forests and villages alike to make meals. It is believed that the markings on each Grave Dragon’s wings are the faces of those who have lost their lives in fires started by that dragon.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

All-Seeing Eye is named for the fact that all he ever does is sit atop the nursery barn, staring at the caretakers. He knows everything that happens every single moment of every single day, and, no matter how hard you try to hide what you did today, he saw it happen. He has never been seen asleep. He knows. And it terrifies the other dragons and the caretakers.

Eye is a slightly larger-than-average adult male Grave Dragon at thirty-two feet in length from nose to tail tip and a wingspan of nineteen. He has no orange markings and has never breathed a puff of flame in his entire life, which led some caretakers to believe he may not be physically able to.

He has no particularly notable life events because all he ever does is sit still at the highest point in the Haven and observe everything. No one knows why. No one wants to ask.
