Blacktip Dragons are a small, shore-dwelling breed that tend to nest on sheer ocean side cliffs. They live in groups under a dominant female, who prevents her subordinates from breeding. During the mating season, a group of Blacktips can be very noisy and smelly indeed; males produce a distinctive musky odor and loud, low-pitched honking noises in an attempt to woo the alpha female.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

User Description

Sometime after Teimarr had hatched, Ember Nuria went back to the beach where she had found the little dragon, and sat on the sand. She was gazing at the tall cliffs above her, when a tiny, clumsy hatchling stumbled onto the sand. Loud honking followed, and Ember looked up to see a pink dragon being backed slowly out of a cave by a loud off-white dragon. The pinkish dragon finally had enough, so it took off into the air, followed by several butterflies. Satisfied, the white dragon went back into the cave. The tiny dragon near Ember came and timidly placed its head on her lap. Touched, Ember picked up the little thing and took it back to her mountain, naming him Salter, meaning salt, for his musty odor. Salter was happy to be with the other dragons, and he grew into a silent, but strong creature. The dragons soon nicknamed Salter, Teimarr, and the other dragons after them "The Halos", meaning "The Saviors", for it was through them that the tallest mountain of Elgar was released.
