Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

The Terrae ancestry of this dragon expresses itself in his massive size; towering close to the treetops in most forests, he's not exactly easy to miss. While his mass has a few advantages (he's yet to find a shelf he can't reach), it also has a fair share of downsides, chief among them the fact that pesky would-be dragon slayers can easily pick him out and attempt to murder him for his scales. While such threats are easy enough to squish (sometimes literally, if they prove overly persistent), he'd really rather avoid such conflicts entirely. Accordingly he's retreated deep into the alpine mountains, where human presence is scarce and the trees are massive enough to hide him from those few that are there. Still, he's heard lovely stories of places in the world where humans and dragons live together more peacefully, and he hopes to someday strike out for such an area rather than living his whole life sequestered in the wilderness.
