Waterhorse Dragons received their name due to their horse-like physique and endearing behavior. They are capable of surviving out of water, and when on land their skin secretes a gelatinous goo to retain moisture. However, their large paddle feet are better suited for swimming, and waterhorse dragons tend to move very awkwardly when on land. Waterhorses are very friendly dragons and enjoy playing with humans.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Bel has had a hard life. When he was younger, he could only watch in sheer horror as his father, Aquiso, was treated terribly by his grandfather. See, Aquiso has some serious hero worship issues. He believes his father to be a god.

Aquiso was landed with Bel from the start; for the Tri rarely take any responsibility for their offspring. And Bel would watch as his grandfather tormented and even sometimes attacked his father.

Slowly but surely, Bel became his father's constant defender. Seeing as terrible things and as much anger as he has, Bel also has some serious anger management issues.

A very small part of him feels the way his father does. The intense desire to please someone who hates him.

Bel's corrosive persona has gotten him in trouble a lot. In fact, his first interaction with his mate, Luisa, was a massive fight that tore away at both of them. She is the one thing on this world he loves more than anything and would die if she left him.
