Black Dragons are warriors. They are strong and capable in battles of force, but also ample magic users, capable of devastating opponents with their spells. Their bright eyes give them excellent night vision, which is why they generally hunt during the night.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Shread is not a dragon to be trifled with.  She is nothing like Newmoon the Pure, after all who would expect a KIND dragon to be named Shread.  Shread is a good hunter and believes in the "Hunter's share" tactic.  That means if she catches prey, she gets the first bite.  She has argued with Smaug the Brave when upset with him, a bold move on her part, but understands his teachings and hardly speaks out against him.  Shread likes to train other Black Dragons, and the ones that she trains end up being some of the most powerful of all of Starryfire's dragons.  She raised and has now become the made of Chaos the Fallen, making them a formidable duo.  Shread also refuses to mate with any other breed of dragon.
