And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Little Guardian likes to help his parents protect his owner's home. Since he is too small to guard the entrance, he decided to guard the frozen and growing hatchlings. Most of the time he plays with the other hatchlings, but sometimes they get startled when a full grown dragon decides to surprise them. When this happens, Little Guardian stands in front of his friends and makes his meanest sounding roar. The grown ups just smile and leave them in peace.
