Maria Pecky is loved to bits by her surrogate mother, and is allowed the privilege of sitting in her lap, or even ontop of her head.

Maria spends most of her time outside the cave, eating worms, spiders, seeds and other little creepy crawlies, as well as laying eggs, which get snatched up by other people looking for dragon eggs. Heaven knows why.

Although quite dim and lacking the ability to talk, Maria is a peaceful denizen of the cave; watching her gently pick at a beetle on the floor, whilst calmly avoiding dragons many times bigger than she is, creates a hypnotic scene of tranquil.
