Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It enjoys gathering pebbles and other small rocks and putting them in a pile.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

Peble's place in life first seemed to be that of an unwanted child. Abandoned by his mother Floranina because he wasn't the egg she had waited for, he might have easily be forgotten.

Luckily enough though his father Niebelung found him and took him under his wings.

From his somewhat distant father Peble has learned the way of the caverns and caves ever since and used some  old dwarven magic to stay young and small forever—never to grow into competition for Niebelung and forever able to explore the smaller and narrower passages under the mountain.
