Gold dragons are the ones most often killed by humans, who consider their scales to be extremely valuable. These golden scales grant them a high level of protection, similar to armor, and they use this to their advantage in battle.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

King Midas's Touch got his name when he heard about the tale of King Midas. He snorted at the end of the story and spread the word about how it was full of rubbish and totally not true. Unknown to him, King Midas was basking in fury at his faulty accusations against the tale. He walked up to King Midas Touch in broad daylight and laid a gentle finger on the dragon, immediately coating him in solid gold. Luckily for him, King Midas Touch could still move around like any other dragon. He now spreads the story of King Midas as far as he can making sure the hatchlings believe him.
