Aww... It’s a cute baby dragon. It spends its time pouncing on insects.

And look! It has grown wings! It must be close to maturing. It is also now covered in brightly colored stripes.

Young dragons are relatively defenseless. They are born with relatively soft scales, which are shed and replaced with harder ones as the hatchling matures. Once a hatchling’s wings grow in, it typically marks the beginning of maturation. At this point they are often capable of hunting on their own and are usually left alone by their mother.

This dragon works at an elegant inn in the far north, where she performs for the rich guests who stay there. When the night is deep and the candles are lit all around the frozen lake, she'll appear and go dancing across the ice in a perfect display of grace and beauty. However, the snobs who room there usually don't praise her efforts, but watch with a critical eye as they sip their expensive tropical drinks.

It's due to this fact that she enjoys going out and performing for the poor instead when she has a chance. They know how to appreciate her... and besides, it warms her heart to do something nice for those who have so little.
