Horse Dragons have equine-shaped bodies and hooves instead of claws, which allow them to be fast runners. They specialize in running takeoffs, which are quicker than taking off from a stand-still. Horse dragons are able to stalk their prey from the ground then quickly execute an aerial attack for the kill.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Nisha Rohan, "night horse", is a rugged beauty with no regard for rules. Found amongst eggs left to die, her master raised her, like she for many others. As a hatchling, Nisha was already beautiful, with her stunning mane and violet body, but she rejected the love of every male, instead utilizing her species' gift of speed to evade courtship. Nisha, true to her name, prefers the night, soaring over the land to explore. She is friends with Isabel Seraphina, for they feel that they share much in common, and will sometimes quietly chat. Nisha Rohan will hunt for ailing dragons, but otherwise she does nothing to support the cave. Nisha's favorite hobby is to fly to a secret meadow at night time and lay amongst the beautiful black nightflowers- she sometimes brings her master, Amphitrite the nereid, and they do their own secret things under the light of the moon, of which no other dragon has ever learned.
