Magi Dragons are, as their name suggests, primarily magic users. They rarely use physical forms of attack. They eat anything they can kill, which is almost everything. They won’t kill unprovoked except when hunting, although they may kill humans if in danger. Their strong magic makes them one of the most feared breeds of dragons.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Belgraith was the first of julietveiled's weyr to survive to adulthood and is therefore something of the protector and leader of the weyr. Possessing a calm, confident air, born of the magical abilities which give her authority over the others, she is an inspiration to the hatchlings of her tribe. This position can be a lonely one, however, and Belgraith, who never knew her parents and has never been good at making friends, has never gotten very close to any other dragons.

Sometimes Belgraith uses her magic to conjure up imaginary friends for herself, half-formed beings of air and magic, who can only echo back to the lonely dragon her own thoughts. It isn't as good as having real friends, but it's better than nothing at all.
