Nocturne Dragons are a strange breed. Whenever light strikes their bodies, they are frozen in whatever position they were in. This leaves them vulnerable and they rely on camouflage to keep themselves safe. They are often mistaken for statues when in this frozen state, but Nocturne dragons do not actually turn into stone. Rather, they merely idle until the sun goes down. At night, these dragons come to life, proving themselves to be powerful fliers, although little else is known about their true behavior.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Moonsoarer is exceedingly odd. Unlike the other Nocturnes on the Crimson Island, he loves to be frozen. He'll do literally anything to keep himself in the light and only stops seeking sunny spots when he needs food.

He's an outcast, but he couldn't care less as long as he can stay frozen. He sometimes attempts to convince the other Nocturne Dragons how wonderful being frozen is and how they should really try it. They never listen to him and have begun avoiding him. He really doesn't care.

During the dark periods of the year, he usually spends all of his time right outside the small 'settlement' in the desert region that a few other dragons created, as there is a spot on the edge of the settlement that glows mysteriously. He's pretty much the only dragon that goes near the settlement, as nobody else wants anything to do with the creepy events that occur within.
