Skywing Dragons spend most of their lives flying in the air. They hunt from the air, diving at prey from above, and land only to rest. They are some of the fastest fliers, capable of extremely high speeds. The webbing at the end of the tail acts as a rudder, allowing them to easily change direction during flight.

Dragons are highly-intelligent reptilian creatures that—from a human perspective, at least—appear to live forever. Many different varieties of dragon exist, each with their own unique qualities, habitats, and behavior. Adolescence in dragons is usually marked by the growth of a hatchling’s wings, although not all breeds of dragons grow wings and some breeds have other traits that indicate the beginning of maturation. In Galsreim, dragons and humans coexist peacefully.

Zulu is the eldest Skywing in the cave and she solely is responsible for the high number of Skywings residing there. It is her practice on hunts to rescue Skywing eggs that have been abandoned and raise them alongside her own. Zulu is known for her cunning hunting abilities... both in terms of prey and her next mate. She never lingers long with the same dragon, well known for her promiscuity, which has resulted in three children. Despite all three children remaining in the cave, no outsider has been successful in identifying them. They are lost in the sizable population of Skywings that look to her, and Zulu does not believe in special familial treatment. Her practical attitudes towards mates and children has left much to be desired by some... causing bitterness in daughter Breeze and heartbreak for one-time lover Spice.
